Mission

Echoing Schubert positions Franz Schubert as a symbol of artistic connection across generations and borders. By reinterpreting his legacy through new works and collaborative programming, the project promotes cultural relevance, artistic inclusivity, and shared European values

Approach

Built around a rotating festival model, the project features open calls, residencies, and commissions across Italy, Spain, and Germany. Althafen Foundation leads coordination, funding, and evaluation, while regional partners deliver education and local engagement. A digital strategy ensures broad reach and long-term visibility

Impact

With over 20 performances, three new commissions, and a feature-length documentary, Echoing Schubert engages both live and digital audiences across Europe. Educational programs and mentorship initiatives support over 300 young musicians, creating a scalable model for cross-border collaboration and cultural innovation
