Chinese Eva Wetzel is a German violinist whose artistic interests extend across solo performance, chamber music, teaching, and educational initiatives. A particular focus of her work is creating programs that connect established repertoire with musical discoveries.

This curiosity shapes many aspects of her artistic life. Her debut album, recorded for GENUIN and scheduled for release in 2026, brings together works from the established violin repertoire with music by composers connected to Hamburg, including works by female composers and two world premiere recordings. The project reflects a broader interest in expanding the traditional concert canon while creating meaningful connections between familiar works and new discoveries.

As a performer, Eva has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player in Germany, across Europe, and in the United States. Chamber music occupies a central place in her artistic life, and she is the founder and first violinist of the Triton Quartet, an ensemble through which she continues to explore the collaborative possibilities of music making.

Teaching forms an equally important part of Eva's artistic identity. Since 2023, she has led her own violin class at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. 

Eva’s artistic journey has been shaped by studies with Ida Bieler, Ani Kavafian, and Tanja Becker-Bender, and marked by recognition at national and international competitions, including the Rosen-Schaffel Competition and the Villa de Llanes International Competition. 

Inspired by educational and non-profit projects in both Germany and the United States, Eva is committed to strengthening music's role within society and creating opportunities for meaningful musical engagement.
