Pianist Vladimir Petrov is a laureate and Audience Prize winner of the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano. Critics have described him as “one of the best pianists of his generation” (Viviana Aubele, Martin Wullich Journal) and praised his “rare musicality and inimitable spirit” (Yurii Danilin, Literary Gazette). He is widely recognised for his expressive depth, virtuosity, and stylistic versatility.

Born in Russia and raised in Mexico from the age of three, Vladimir brings together two cultural influences that have shaped his artistic identity. He has won top prizes at numerous international competitions, including the Lotar Shevchenko Competition in Russia, the Ciudad de Vigo Competition in Spain, the José Jacinto Cuevas–Yamaha Competition in Mexico, the NTD Piano Competition in New York, and the Neapolitan Masters Competition in Italy, in addition to his success at the Busoni Competition.

His international concert career has taken him across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, with appearances at major venues including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, Salle Cortot in Paris, Salle Frank Martin in Geneva, and the Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, as well as the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres. He has collaborated with orchestras across Europe and the Americas, working with conductors including Valery Gergiev, Lanfranco Marcelletti, Tito Muñoz, Pavel Gerstein, and Gleb Skvortsov, among others. His chamber music collaborations have included performances with violinists Graf Mourzha and Kristóf Baráti.

Vladimir’s discography includes four solo albums. His recording Encores was released by Mans Label in Spain in 2021, while his album featuring Schumann’s Symphonic Etudes was recorded in the Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory. A further recording project was produced in New York. His repertoire ranges from Classical and Romantic masterworks to large-scale virtuosic works and Russian repertoire.

Vladimir graduated from the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow in 2020, where he studied with Valerii Piassetsky and Elisso Virsaladze and was named Top Graduate Student of the Year. He later continued his studies with Grigory Gruzman at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar. He is currently pursuing postgraduate studies with Horacio Gutiérrez at the Manhattan School of Music in New York while maintaining an active international concert career.
