Michelle DiBucci is an American composer renowned for her innovative contributions to theater, opera, dance, film, and television. Born in Pittsburgh, she earned her B.M. in Music Composition from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.M. from The Juilliard School, where she has been a faculty member since 1992. Her diverse body of work includes the ballet-opera Charlotte Salomon: Death and the Painter, which received Germany's prestigious Faust Award in 2015.
Her music-theater piece Basetrack Live was acclaimed as one of The New York Times' top ten theatrical events of 2014. DiBucci's compositions have been performed at esteemed venues such as Komische Oper Berlin, Alice Tully Hall, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. In addition to her work in live performance, she has composed scores for films like Wendigo and Gêmeas. Her career exemplifies a seamless blend of acoustic and electronic elements, enriching both stage and screen productions.
