ensemble bio
Established in the midst of the pandemic in December 2020 by Russian flutist Taya König-Tarasevich and Italian cellist Bartolomeo Dandolo Marchesi, the ensemble quickly attracted some of the finest next-generation Baroque musicians and earned a reputation as one of the world’s premier ensembles. It offers an intimate experience of legendary Baroque masterpieces alongside newly commissioned works by composers-in-residence Nicola Canzano, SJ Hanke, Thomas Chabalier, and Marc Migó.
Renowned for their authentic Baroque interpretations, Verità brings the past to life while embracing new compositions written specifically for the ensemble. The Ensemble is dedicated to honoring the foundations of Baroque music and pushing the boundaries of innovation and expression. Verità is devoted to filling the communicative void sorely missing from prevailing presentations of the genre.
Even after the pandemic, Verità enables the artists to continue immersing themselves in the intensely intimate music-making that initially brought them together. The unequivocal dedication each artist brings to re-examining universal truths speaks volumes about the collective’s idealistic spirit, magnetic charisma, and contagious inspiration.

I was totally captivated by the sound right from the start. The performances are so obviously up to scratch, and the recording is a beauty, rich and vibrant

A great new ensemble with imaginative and daring young musicians that play with drive and pepper. They obviously love the rich sound; the recording was made in the rather reverberant acoustics, nevertheless, you can hear the fine nuances very well and vividly

The production alone is enough to make this album a contender for the Best of the Year. [...] They [Verità] have sweetness and vigor. The swelling that comes from natural bowing is not done here; sustained notes are smooth. [...] Bravo to all involved! Sometimes reviewing can be a pleasure
